Okay, my first boy/girl party is officially OVER! It actually went really, really well. I was a stress case on Friday because it poured rain all day and it was predicted to be the same on Saturday! Saturday morning we cleared out Stephen's playroom/our living room to make it into a little party area where we were going to have karaoke going, in the living room we were going to have the Xbox hooked up and in the garage would be food, disco ball, music, and whatever else we could come up with! It did end up raining but not lightning so we went ahead with the pool party and I think it actually ended up being more fun! Luckily I think the weather may have kept some people away - we only ended up with about 12 kids (more boys than girls!!) Anyhow, they had fun swimming in the rain and we all huddled under an outdoor umbrella to sing happy birthday and eat cake! Then we proceeded to tie all the kids up into teams for their scavenger hunt! Again, it started pouring but they were all really good sports and made a great time out of it!! We had them searching for different items such as: something that starts with an "R", something shiny, something squishy, a cigarette butt, chewed gum, etc. Kind of gross but we are talking about a bunch of 12 year olds here! They loved it! That kept them occupied for about an hour and then we swam some more and it was OVER!! YEAH!!
By the way, my cake turned out GREAT and I hope to have pics on later - I can't seem to get them off my camera!
Okay - got the pics on - the shot of just the boy is Rachel's new beau, Jason. Lord help me.
