Okay, I guess total devastation was a little dramatic but I was livid that I missed some of the Emmys! Although from I did see I was not impressed! I cannot believe James Spader won over James Gandolfini! I love James Spader but who even watches Boston Legal? Besides that we had a nice weekend. We did some yard work Friday morning. The weeds in our mulched area looked like a jungle! But we/I got them pulled and got to play with the electric hedgetrimmer! I love that thing! I feel like Edward Scissorhands! Of course not nearly as artistic! I paid for my yard work the rest of the weekend with horrorific allergies! Friday night, Greg and Jessica stopped by to hang out and we ended up watching Breakfast Club when Jessica mentioned she had never seen it! I was appalled and quickly popped it in and we had some good laughs! Saturday morning/afternoon John's work had a company picnic (in their parking lot mind you!) so we headed to Hopkinsville. It actually wasn't that bad. They had all kinds of jumping things set up, including the bungee cord trampoline so Rachel and Stephen were in heaven! It was sunny but unfortunately it felt like it was 50 degrees out so we did not stay long! Saturday night Greg and Jessica had a bonfire so we headed down there and the kids got to play tag while we all hung out so that was nice. Sunday Jessica, Michelle, MacKenzie, Hannah and I all went into Nashville to dress shop for Michelle's homecoming semi-formal dance. OH! The dance I found out that I have to chaperone until 1:00 a.m. since Michelle is on student council! Come on, think about it, am I really someone they want to be chaperoning! Anyway, we found a really pretty dress for her at Dillard's and then got some Starbucks and relaxed. I'm still searching for shoes but we got the rest of her accessories Sunday. I'll be sure to have pics up when she gets ready Saturday.
